Malin Akerman and her husband Roberto Zincone are officially headed for a divorce after Zincone filed the papers this week.
The "Trophy Wife" star married her drummer husband six years ago, and the couple just welcomed their first child in April.
According to court documents filed on Nov. 27, Zincone filed for a divorce citing irreconcilable differences, reported Entertainment Tonight.
Furthermore, the Italian musician is seeking joint custody of their seven-month-old son, Sebastian, and is requesting spousal support from Akerman.
Nevertheless, it is because of their son that Akerman and Zincone will remain "amicable."
"It's as amicable as can be, and they want to do what's best for their son," a source close to the pair told Us Weekly.
When the news of the couple's split first broke, Akerman was allegedly devastated and unwilling to address the reports.
"Honestly, Malin is not even ready to discuss it. It's a very sad time for her," the insider at Us Weekly noted.
However, just days before Zincone filed for a divorce, Akerman happily tweeted and nbsp;about a night out on Nov. 21.
"Mamma's hitting the town tonight!!!! That is, until I turn into a pumpkin 1t 10! #motherhood," the actress posted.
It is believed that Akerman and her husband dated for many years before tying the knot, and in the past, the actress gushed about her relationship with Zincone.
"We've never had one single fight," she said, according to Mail Online. "We've always talked things out."
Meanwhile, Akerman stars as Kate, a woman newly married to a twice-divorced older man with three children on ABC's comedy "Trophy Wife." She stars alongside Bradley Whitford, Marcia Gay Harden and Michaela Watkins.
When discussing the sitcom, Akerman revealed the grueling schedule of an actress- possibly offering a hint at trouble in her marriage at the time.
"To be honest with you, I'd been doing film for a while, which I love, but I got to a certain point where there was one year where I was home maybe three months out of the whole year and I was like, 'You know what? I would love to just be home, be with my husband, be with my friends and just kind of have more of a regular schedule," said the actress to the Associated Press.
